Traffic restrictions on the M1-M7 motorway during the weekend From 9:00 p.m. on Saturday evening to 7:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, experts will replace the "digital road information boards with variable signage" on the entrance and exit sections of the M1-M7 highway. According to the announcement of Magyar Közút Nonprofit Zrt., lane closures will be introduced periodically during the works.
On the section leading to Budapest, near the rest stop in Budaörs, the changes will begin, during which the inner, middle and outer lanes will first be closed. In such cases, traffic can flow on the stop lane and the parallel collector-distributor lane. When the actual lift-off takes place, a full lane closure will be in place, restricting traffic for approximately 30 minutes twice. During this period, only the parallel collector-distributor lane remains open. After that, the display at kilometer 13 of the side of the M1 highway leading to Győr will be replaced, at which a complete lane closure will be in effect from the M1-M7 junction.
During this time, motorists must continue on the M7 motorway and then return to the M1 motorway by touching the M0 motorway. The diversion route will be marked with warning signs on a yellow background. Magyar Közút asks drivers to find out about the current traffic situation before setting off at the Útinform service (+36-1-336-2400) or on the website www.utinform.hu. It is also worth using navigation and social car applications to plan the optimal route.
